The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has finalized eight franchise names for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL). Historically, NPL will feature eight teams from the 2024 edition.
Eight franchises to compete in NPL:
1. Biratnagar
2. Janakpur
3. Chitwan
4. Kathmandu
5. Pokhara
6. Lumbini
7. Karnali
8. Sudurpaschim
All seven provinces will have at least one team with Bagmati province having two teams – Chitwan and the capital city, Kathmandu. Karnali and Sudurpaschim will also have a franchise in the 2024 edition. The official names of the franchises will be decided by the team owners.
There is already significant excitement surrounding the new NPL, as CAN has decided to take the initiative and host the tournament independently. The tournament is scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 21 (Mangsir 15 to Paush 6) in Kathmandu.
