The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced Nepal’s squad for the CWC League 2 tri-series against Canada and Oman. Regular captain Rohit Paudel will lead the 15-player squad, which includes a couple of new additions to the team.
Left-arm pacer Rijan Dhakal gets a call-up alongside wicketkeeper batter Arjun Saud. Meanwhile, Dev Khanal is the 16th member of the squad as a travelling reserve.
Sundeep Jora, Aakash Chand, Basir Ahamad, Surya Tamang, Kamal Singh Airee and Sagar Dhakal are the players left out of the preliminary squad.
Captain Rohit Paudel and DS Airee are already in Canada, having remained there to train following the conclusion of the GT20 League Canada. The rest of the squad will leave tomorrow.
Nepal will be touring Canada for their second tri-series under CWC League 2 2024-2027. Nepal hasn’t played an ODI match in seven months, as they were focused on the T20 format followed by a period of rest. Nepal last played the ODI match in February. In the opening series held on home ground in February, Nepal faced three defeats and secured only one win against Netherlands and Namibia.
