Sandeep Patil, a former Indian cricketer has been roped in as a mentor of Pokhara Avengers for the inaugural season of the Nepal T20 League.
Patil worked as India A and Indian Cricket team coach before getting the head coach role of Kenya, leading them to the semifinals of the 2003 World Cup. The 66 years old has also coached Oman Cricket Team. Moreover, Patil has represented India in 29 Test matches and 45 ODIs.
Pokhara has assembled a decent squad picking up the Sheikh brothers along with Sharad Vesawakar, ace of the domestic leagues. Furthermore, foreign stars like Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez, Srilanka’s duo Seekkuge Prasanna and Niroshan Dickwella will also play for Pokhara.
The first edition of Nepal T20 is set to take place from 24th September to 22nd October at the TU cricket ground, Kirtipur.
