Nepal vs USA

Nepal cricket team on Monday clinched the three-match Twenty20 International series 3-0 to hand the United States its first whitewash.

USA managed 156 for 5 after winning the toss, thanks to Saiteja Mukkamalla’s half century and Milind Kumar’s brisk 43. The duo put on a 76 runs partnership off 60 balls to give a respectable total to the tourist. Mukkamalla hit 51-ball 68 runs, smashing five fours and two sixes while Kumar remained unbeaten on 43 off 35 balls, including four boundaries.

Sompal Kami was pick of the bowlers as he finished 3/27 in his four overs. Rijan Dhakal and Lalit Rajbanshi grabbed a piece.

During the chase, Nepal lost Anil Sah (13) in the powerplay. Aasif Sheikh hit first fifty of the tour and contributed a 50-run (36 balls) partnership with the in-form Kushal Bhurtel for the second wicket. Sheikh hit five boundaries and two sixes before holding out.

Bhurtel and Kushal Malla Steadied the ship and took the game away from the hosts. They ended the match in 18.4 overs with a 74-run partnership for the third wicket in 51 balls. Bhurtel remained unbeaten on 40 off 32 balls whilst Malla on 44 off 30 balls.

Aasif Sheikh was adjudged Player of the match and Sompal was rewarded as the Player of the series.
