Kathmandu – Sharad Vesawkar, Nepali National Cricketer finally received his much-awaited Nepali Citizenship after a month of lobbying and series of meeting.
Home Ministry of Nepal finally handed over the citizenship certificate under the Citizenship ACT 2006, which allows government to grant him citizenship as he is an eminent personality.
As per the provision set in the Act, the goverment can grant naturalize citizenship to those who made particular contributions for uplifting philosophy, science, world piece, art, literature, human welfare or Nepali Industry, finance or social development.
Sharad took oath, before taking the citizenship as per the provision of Country’s law.
Sharad, whose mother is a Nepali and father an Indian was born in the United Aram Emirates and is playing for Nepal since 2002 ACC U-15 CUp.
CAN formed a committee headed by President Tanka Angbuhang, were lobbying with the home ministry and High Level Political Committee.
