Chatur Bahadur Chand, the president of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has said that they will respect the law and follow it in regard to the return of suspended cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane to the Men’s team.
Speaking to the media during the press meeting organised by CAN on Thursday, Chand said CAN is sensitive about Sandeep’s return and they will wait for Court’s decision and respect the law of Nepal.
Sandeep Lamichhane is currently released on bail and still faces a trial on a charge of raping a minor.
“He is a player needed by Nepal and International Cricket Council has said to go ahead if the law of Nepal allows it. We are discussing the matter”, Chand added.
Sandeep Lamichhane has been released on NRs. 20 lakhs (Rs. 2 million/ USD 15,300) bail by the Patan High Court in January 12.
